The Founder
Farida is a qualified Ayurveda Practitioner, a clinical Aromatherapist and Teacher, Bowen Therapy Instructor, a Remedial Therapist and a Reflexologist. She has done her post graduate studies (Ayurveda Nishnata) with world renowned Ayurveda Physician Prof Dr P H Kulkarni (Ex Dean Ayurveda University, Pune, India). In October 2006 she was awarded her Ayurveda Parangat (Doctor of Ayurveda) by the International Ayurveda Open University at the 8th International Conference in Senigallia/Anconia, Italy. She works in a holistic fashion combining her therapeutic skills together with energy balancing techniques, which enhance the healing process, bringing about a physical, mental, emotional equilibrium as well as a sense of harmony and well being. She has worked for several years with cancer patients, chronic fatigue and stroke patients, giving them the strength to cope with the fears and emotions of the disease, building up their immunity and their subtle spiritual beings. Farida is regarded as a pioneer in Ayurveda Aromatherapy. Through her clinical research and studies, she has combined the ancient sciences of Ayurveda with the science of Aromatherapy and has been successful in reviving this ancient branch of using essential oils in Ayurveda, long forgotten by many practising the science today. Farida is an international speaker and lecturer who is often invited to international conferences in the natural therapies and complimentary health fields. She conducts workshops and seminars in Ayurveda Aromatherapy including several ancient allied body techniques such as Shirodhara, Shiroabhyang (authentic Indian Head Massage), Padabhyang (Authentic Indian Foot Massage) and many more. She introduced the concept of Indian Padabhyang (Indian foot technique) in the nineties to the reflexologists together with the Kasa bowl technique. Many practitioners worldwide have studied with Farida and incorporated these concepts in their practices. The Australian government has accredited her course “Diploma in Ayurveda Aromatherapy”. This is the first course of its kind and has already been incorporated internationally into private natural therapies colleges in Australia, Taiwan and Japan. She has developed her own Rare and Unique Ayurveda Aromatherapy Range which includes ayurveda aromatherapy blends for skin and body care, as well as for therapeutic use under the name of Subtle Energies. Through Subtle Energies she has created a range of exclusive signature blends for the spa industry supplying spas globally in countries such as Mauritius, Maldives, India, Australia, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, USA, Taiwan, Japan and the UK. In 2001 Farida wrote a book titled “The Magic of Ayurveda Aromatherapy” which received commending reviews amongst many in the Natural Therapies industry.. It is about her work and research over the years into the study of these rare and unique oils and how they can be used in harmony with universal healing sciences. Recipes are given for skin problems, skin care and other therapeutic problems together with case studies, spiritual affirmations, colour therapy, aura & chakra therapy, Indian clays and much more. In 2004 she received the “International Ayurveda Saraswati Award” from the Ayurveda Academy, at the International Ayurveda Conference in Pune, India. This award was given for her work and research accomplished in writing “The Magic of Ayurveda Aromatherapy”. Farida teaches the original Bowen technique (founded by Oswald and Elaine Rentsch) in Australia and has also introduced this technique into India. She is also responsible for training a dedicated team of qualified Bowen practitioners in India and Taiwan. She continues to travel to India, training new practitioners and performing voluntary work using the Bowen technique. Inspired by her Ayurveda Guru Prof Dr. P.H. Kulkarni to hold the 26th Ayurveda Conference from Pune, India, Farida organised the very 1st International Ayurveda and Yoga Conference in Sydney, Australia in April 2006, together with her colleagues Dr Shaun Matthews, Dr Rama Prasad and Sevadevi Glover. Together they founded Ayurveda Yoga Australia. In April 2009, she with her family, and Ayurveda Yoga Australia, organised The 2nd International Ayurveda Yoga Conference. Her aim and mission is to incorporate these sciences into the main stream system of health and education in Australia. These conferences included eminent world-renowned speakers such as Prof Dr P H Kulkarni, Parmahans Swami Maheshwarananda, Dr Robert Svoboda, Brother Satyananda, Swamini Mayatitinanada, Dr Ian Gawler, Dr Swami Shankerdev, Dr Ramkumar, Prof Marc Cohen and many more. In 2006, Farida was presented with the “ International Ayurveda Dhanuvantari Award” from the Ayurveda Academy in India. This award was presented “ … for her significant contribution in the field of Ayurveda with special reference to Propagation, Education & Research.” She is also the first-ever female recipient of this award. 2010 is a year of great change for Farida. She has embarked on implementing a teacher training program that will see her course taught throughout Australia. Collaborating with some of Australia’s finest natural skin care chemists, Farida and Subtle Energies also will launch its much anticipated retail label and natural skin care line, whilst also implementing the Ayurveda Aromatherapy Spa Concept into the Six Senses Group of Hotels. Farida continues to promote these sciences through her works in her clinic, her products, courses and her many travels around the globe. She believes that her clients are her teachers and every individual who has come to her for treatment has taught her a valuable lesson. Her mission is to spread the true spirit of these sciences to the world by creating more awareness amongst practitioners and lay people. She also strives to help the ailing humanity and to encourage people to have a well-balanced lifestyle on all levels.
