Gold (Suvarna) has been used in Ayurveda medicines for eons, as a great Rasayana (rejuvenator), providing essential revitalisation, conservation and rejuvenation to the skin and senses, creating a happy harmonious state of being. In Rasayana, one of the eight branches of Ayurveda science, it falls under the Srikamya category, which means the promoter of complexion. Without Rasa (juices/essence) in our bodies we can dry out and Gold being an important Rasa, together with the oils, which are also Rasayanas, they would nourish the skin on all levels.
